During the three-day period of Saturday, July 9 through Monday, July 11, four boxers ranked by the participating members of TTR as being among the best currently fighting in their respective weight classes were in action. Two, Miguel Roman and Sergey Kovalev, won while the other two, Albert Pagara and Isaac Chilemba, were defeated.

- Juarez came into the bout off two consecutive points losses as he dropped a competitive unanimous decision to Nonito Donaire last December and a razor-thin split decision to Giovanni Delgado in March.
- Pagara floored Juarez near the end of the first round but Juarez battled back and took control. After dominating Pagara in the seventh, Juarez dropped him for the full ten count early in round 8.

- Kovalev floored Chilemba in the seventh round and went on to win by the scores of 116-111, 117-110, and 118-109.
- Scoring for the bout for HBO, Harold Lederman scored both the 7th and 8th rounds 10-8 for Kovalev and had him winning, 118-108.
- Bobby Davis and I scored the bout for TTR and both of us had Kovalev winning convincingly. Bobby had it 118-109; I had it 117-110.
