- #10 ranked Suguru Murunaka, who entered the TBRB's rankings on October 27, 2015, failed to make the flyweight limit, weighing in at 114 3/4, for his defense of the Japanese title on April 8, 2015. As a result, he was stripped of the Japanese title. He went on to outpoint Tetsuma Hatashi in the April 8 bout in which the vacant title was available to Hayashi only.
