WNF: Diaconu Destroys Hoye
Wednesday night at Mel's Studio in Quebec, undefeated Light Heavyweight Adrian "The Shark" Diaconu (24-0, 15 Kos) took less than 7 minutes to destroy Rico Hoye (20-2, 15 Kos) winning via TKO at 32: of round number three.

Diaconu set the pace early, landing a heavy left right combination which left Hoye wobbled and on unsteady legs.

Hoye would gather himself and begin to utilize the jab to keep the fight at the distance and the heavy-handed Diaconu at bay. Diaconu closed out the round with several left hook and straight right hand combinations.

Hoye settled down in round two, successfully keeping Diaconu at arm's length by sticking the left jab. Hoye seemed to be in control of the round until Diaconu, with 50 seconds remaining, landed a double left hook to the body and head of Hoye, and followed up with a tremendous straight right hand, which backed Hoye into the ropes. Diaconu surged forward, missing wildly with a looping left, but followed up with six unanswered punches: left hook, left-right combination to the head, two heavy left hooks and a hammering straight right hand which sent Hoye falling into the ropes.

The referee called the knockdown for Diaconu, stating the ropes held Hoye up. With blood dripping from the corner of Hoye's right eye, the action resumed, and The Shark smelled blood. Hoye weakly threw a left jab which Diaconu easily countered with a straight right hand which again wobbled Hoye, then landed another left hook as Hoye's knees buckled and his glove touched the canvas for the second knock down of the round.

Hoye took the referee's count, and the round continue with Hoye barely surviving on his feet.

Diaconu jumped on the still shaken Hoye, landing a thundering straight right hand into the face of Hoye and followed with a crushing left hook. The punches tore open a horrific gash over Hoye's left eye. Diaconu stepped back to survey the damage, and immediately jumped on Hoye again, landing a savage double left hook, with the first punch landing square on the head, and the second into the rib cage of Hoye, which caused Hoye to go to his knee.

As blood gushed from the wound, and Hoye in obvious pain, Referee Michael Griffin stopped the fight at: 32 of round number three.

In the opening bout, undefeated bantamweight Sebastian Gauthier (11-0, 9 Kos) took care of business quickly, winning via 3rd round TKO over Alex Becerra (19-5, 9 Kos). The more experienced Beccera appeared to win the first round by throwing and landing more punches (32/72) compared to Gauthier (21/65), but in the second round, Gauthier began working up and down, to the head and body of Beccera. Gauthier demonstrated good ring generalship, working in and out, landing two or three punches, then moving back out, establishing the jab and working his way back inside.

Gauthier continued his dominance into the third round, as his punches became more and more heavy. Gauthier had Beccera backing up, landing damaging hooks and right hands, which buckled Beccera's knees four times. Gauthier landed a powerful right hand at the: 35-second mark, which had Beccera on Queer Street.

Gauthier then closed the show landing five straight punches, including a left hook, straight right hand that resulted in the referee stopping the fight at 2:44 of round three.

In other action, Super Featherweight Baha Laham (4-0, 1 KO) kept his record unscathed by defeating Mathias Tchikaya (0-4-2, 0 KOs) via UD 4. The judges scored the fight 40-36 and 39-37 twice. The13thround.com scored the fight 40-36 for Lahman.
