On the undercard of the Mayweather vs De La Hoya fight at the MGM Grand Arena was a very exciting fight featuring tough undefeated fighter Rey "boom boom" Bautista (23-0 17KOs) against unbeaten Sergio Medina (28-1 22KOs) to determine who would fight WBO champ Daniel Ponce DeLeon.



This fight was a war from start to finish. Medina was a lenghtier fighter and threw wide punches while bautista applied pressure and unloaded on Medina whe his back was against the ropes. At the 5th round, Bautista was deducted 2 points for a low blow. Bautista retaliated by sending Medina to the mat during the 6th round. Following a flurry and a loss of balance, Bautista held the ropes on his way to the mat and the ref gave him an 8 count. Bautista will send Medina to the mat again in the 11th round.









Rey Bautista showed all his toughness and determination in this great fight. The judges gave the fight to Bautista by unanimous decision.
