Judah, Galvan No Contest
Zab Judah (34-4-0-1, 25 KO's), in his first fight since serving a one-year suspension, faced off against Ruben Galvan (27-11-2-1, 10 KO's) Friday night at the Fitzgeralds Casino Hotel in Tunica, Mississippi. The bout, originally scheduled to take place outside, had to be moved in doors due to a severe lightning storm. The 29 year old Judah took little time jumping on the under matched opponent, landing a straight right hand which had Galvan covering up early. At 2:17 of round one, Judah connected with a double jab, missed with a straight right, but landed a left-right combo to Galvans body. Judah immediately pressed forward, landing a quick short right hook, and followed up with two lefts and a big right hand, pushing Galvan to the ropes. Zab continued stalking Galvan and unleashed a straight right to the head, right to the body and a then connected with a beautifully thrown right uppercut, followed by another big right hand.

Galvan clinched and as the referee broke the fighters, blood was seen streaming down Galvans face from a cut opened just in the fighter's hairline.

After a brief stoppage, wherein it appeared everyone had their day in court to plead their case, the fight was stopped, the cut deemed to be caused by an elbow (originally stated to be caused by an accidental clash of heads), and the bout was ruled a No Contest. Replays indicated the cut was definitely caused either by Judahs uppercut or subsequent right hand.

Zab Judah landed 15 of 46 punches (12 of 41 to the head; 3 of 5 to the body) to Galvans goose egg (0 of 10 punches thrown).

Judah is now scheduled to meet Miguel Cotto in June.
