Tuesday Eurosport Boxing Card results
The main event of this card was a featherweight rematch between Gagik Martirosyan and Osman Aktas. Their first fight between the two happened less than 2 months ago (2007-01-30). Gagik Martisoryan had won a 6 rounds split decision on his more experienced opponent. The rematch was a hard fought high pace fight full of intense exchanges on the inside. Aktas used his jab more, was more active and effective, while martirosyan tried to counter with power punches and throw compact combinations on the inside. Aktas was the better ifghter, was more opportunist, and even became a little cocky dropping his hands as teh fight progressed. Martirosyan seemed to have the heavier hands, but aktas slickness and effective footwork on the inside won him the 8 rounds decision.

A heavyweight fight was also shown on the card, featuring undefeated french boxer Steve Herelius and Armenian boxer Suren Kalachyan. Both heavyweights were shoutpaws, Herelius being a huge 6 feet 5 inches tall guy. This has to be one of teh weirdest heavyweight fights i have seen... Herelius injured his left ankle during the first round, started to stumble in the ring, limped to the corner where the ref called a time-out. The ref quickly explained to him that he would stop the fight if he cant continue, so herelius right away decide to continue, and fight at a very high pace. A brutal exchange between to two fighters began, and herelius dropped Suren on to the mat. Suren Kalachyan got up and continued to fight, but ended at numerous time in the corner where herelius ripped him to the body. This is exactly how the fight ended in teh 2nd round, herelius pressing the action, pressuring Suren in the corner and unleashing brutal body and head combos. Herelius landed a big bomb left to Kalachyans bodys who quickly fell on the mat again, he got up, but walked towards his corner and the ref stopped the fight. Herelius injury to the left ankle seemed to cause him disconfort during the full fight duration, but not enough to be a problem. 2nd round TKO for Herelius in this very very weird fight!

Middleweights Karim Boukeroui and Chamil Ismailov fought in a 6 rounds fight. Romanian undefeated prospect Ismailov improved his record to (4-0-0 3KOs) by winning by KO at the 6th round. This was a very exciting fight, with very good exchanges. Both fighters gave a good effort for 6y rounds, but Ismailov landed consecutive uppercuts on KArim fighting on the inside, and dropped him on the mat. Boukeroui gave a courageous effort by getting up, but Ismailov landed a hard straight right hand the sent Karim to the mat gain, this time for good.

Also on the card, a fight between two young middleweights Damien Bertu and Gheorghe Danut was shown. This was an energic effort by both guys. The two fighters came in shape and gave a great effort for the full 6 rounds. This exciting tough scrap was dominated by taller and better fighter but still, Danut was a very hard man to beat. Danut style was more powerful and compact, but he seemed to have paced himself too fast. A very good fight punctuated with really nice exchanges. Bertu won a unanimous decision.
