TTR RANKED FIGHTERS IN ACTION: March 13- Teraji Stops Akui/Olascuaga Outpoints Kyoguchi/Santiago Upsets Iwata

Earlier today, in Tokyo, Japan, six men ranked by TTR as being among the best fighting in their respective weight classes were in action. Three, Kenshiro Teraji, Anthony Olascuaga, and Rene Santiago, racked up victories while three, Seigo Yuri Akui, Hiroto Kyoguchi, and Shokichi Iwata, lost (to Teraji, Olascuaga, and Santiago respectively).

- This bout was also fought for Teraji's WBC and Akui's WBA World flyweight titles.
- Akui and Teraji came into the bout as the consensus Top 2 flyweights. Besides the rankings listed above, as of March 12, Akui was ranked #3 by The Ring, #1 by ESPN, and #2 by BoxRec while Teraji was ranked #2 by The Ring, #2 by ESPN, and #1 by BoxRec.
- Going into the 12th round, the scores were 106-103 for Teraji, 105-104 for Akui, and 105-104 for 105-104 for Akui.
- In round 12, Teraji unleashed a barrage of combinations prompting referee Katsuhiro Nakamura to save the battered Akui from further punishment.
