On the Evander Holyfield-Vinny Maddalone undercard, Calvin Brock returned to action with a spectacular one-punch knockout of journeyman Ralph "Wild, Wild" West. Brock, who weighed in at 231, the same as when he blasted out Zuri Lawrence with left hook, dropped the 250 3/4 pound West with a perfectly timed right hand to end the bout at 2:49 of the 1st round. Now trained by both his father and Hall of Famer Pernell "Sweet Pea" Whitaker, Brock seems focused and prepared to fight his way back to another title shot.
