On Saturday, September 17, one lineal World champion and seven TTR-ranked contenders were in action. The champion, Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, and five of the contenders, Jesse "Bam" Rodriguez, Austin "Ammo" Williams, Troy Wiliamson, Yamil Alberto Peralta, and Cristofer Rosales, added victories to their records, while two contenders, Gennadiy Golovkin and Israel Gonzalez, were defeated (by Alvarez and Rodriguez respectively).

- Referee Kenny Bayless deducted a point from Rodriguez in round 8 for a low blow. It should be noted that both fighters were warned for low blows prior to that- Gonzalez in round 4 and Rodriguez in round 7.
- Rodriguez won by the scores of 118-109, 117-110, and 114-113 to retain the WBC World super flyweight title.
