- This bout was fought for the vacant WBO Asia Pacific junior lightweight title.
- Kimura dropped Nakagawa in round 5 and in round 9 and was leading by the scores of 106-101, 108-99, and 107-100 going into the 12th round.
- Kimura dropped Nakagawa again in round 12 causing the bout to be stopped.
