He was scheduled to fight Jorge David Castaneda for Castaneda's WBC International Silver super featherweight title on March 12, 2022 but withdrew the week of the fight citing a training setback. He then flew to Toronto with Kell Brook to attend the March 13, 2022 Samuel Vargas-Przemyslaw Runowski bout.
- #9 ranked Eduardo Ramirez fought and won as a junior lightweight on December 5, 2021 when he unanimously outpointed Miguel Marriaga over 10 rounds. He last fought as a featherweight on May 1, 2021 (TKO-3 win over Isaac Avelar).
