TTR RANKED FIGHTERS IN ACTION- August 21- Ugas, Magsayo, and Castro Win In Vegas

On Saturday, August 21, three fighters ranked by TTR as being among the best currently fighting in their respective weight classes were in action. All three, Yordenis Ugas, who upset the legendary Manny Pacquiao, Mark Magsayo, and Carlos Castro, won.

In addition, two nights earlier in Panama, a bout featuring fighters not ranked by TTR which impacted TTR's rankings was won by Jaime Arboleda.

Welterweight Bout-
Yordenis Ugas (TTR #4, Transnational Boxing Rankings Board #4, The Ring #5; 27-4, 12 KOs)

Manny Pacquiao (The Ring #3; 62-8-2, 39 KOs)
- Ugas' WBA Super World title was at stake.
- This was Pacquiao's first bout since his SD 12 win over Keith Thurman on July 20, 2019.
- Ugas also fought on the July 20, 2019 card, unanimously outpointing Omar Figueroa, Jr. over 12 rounds. Unlike Pacquiao, Ugas fought twice last year, stopping Mike Dallas, Jr. after seven rounds on February 1 and winning by SD 12 over Abel Ramos on September 6.
- Ugas upset Pacquiao by unanimous decision. The scores were 115-113, 116-112, and 116-112.

Mark Magsayo (The Ring #6, TTR #15; 23-0, 16 KOs)

Julio Ceja (32-5-1, 28 KOs)
- This bout was a WBC World title eliminator.
- Ceja was fighting for the first time since his 12-round, split decision draw with Brandon Figueroa on November 23, 2019.
- Magsayo dropped Ceja in round 1.
- Ceja recovered well and floored Magsayo in round 5.
- Magsayo KOed Ceja with a right in round 10.

- This bout was fought for the vacant WBC Continental Americas title.
