On Saturday, June 26, three boxers ranked by TTR as being among the best currently fighting in their respective divisions were in action in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. Two, Julio Cesar Martinez and Daniel Matellon, won and, in doing so, successfully defended their titles, and one, Jose Argumedo, lost (to Matellon).

Joel Cordova (WBC #15; 13-5-2, 3 KOs/12-5-2, 3 KOs as per BoxRec)
- Martinez dropped Cordova in round 6. Cordova beat the count but was met with an onslaught of hard shots when action resumed. The referee then stopped the bout thus saving Cordova from more punishment.

WBA Interim World Light Flyweight Title-
