TTR RANKED FIGHTERS IN ACTION- May 22- Taylor Wins Lineal Championship; Zepeda Stays Active With Win

On Saturday, May 22, three boxers ranked by TTR as the #1, #2, and #4 ranked contenders for the vacant lineal World junior welterweight championship were in action. #1 ranked Josh Taylor unanimously outpointed #2 ranked Jose Carlos Ramirez to win the aforementioned lineal title and #4 ranked Jose Zepeda won on points over former contender "Hammerin'" Hank Lundy.

- Taylor dropped Ramirez in round 6 and in round 7. The knockdowns proved to be be the difference between a Taylor win and a draw because all three judges scored the bout 114-112 for Taylor.
- Andre Ward scored the bout for ESPN and had Taylor winning by a 115-111 score.
- I agreed with judges. Scoring the bout for TTR's Main Page, I also had Taylor winning 114-112.
