Monabesa and Tito Win in Indonesia/Kawaura Wins In Japan

Earlier today at the Balai Sarbini Convention Hall in Jakarta, Indonesia, Tibo Monabesa outpointed Toto Landero to win the vacant WBC International light flyweight title and veteran super lightweight Hero Tito upset previously unbeaten Hebi Marapu while at the famed Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan, touted prospect Ryusei Kawaura remained undefeated by stopping Joe Tanooka.

Tibo Monabesa (WBC #6; 21-1-2, 8 KOs)

Toto Landero (WBC #22; 11-5-2, 2 KOs)
- Monabesa, a former IBO World light flyweight champion, has wins over Lito Dante, Samartlek Kokietgym, and Omari Kimweri. His only loss was to Hiroto Kyoguchi.
- Landero, while campaigning as a strawweight, had shots at both the WBA and IBO World titles. His resume includes wins over Victorio Saludar and Joel Lino and losses to Joey Canoy, Knockout CP Freshmart, Simpiwe Konkco, and Melvin Jerusalem.
- Monabesa unanimously outpointed Landero by the scores of 117-111, 115-113, and 116-112.

- Former WBC Asian Boxing Council Silver lightweight champion Marapu was fighting for the first time since his UD 6 win over Isaac Junior on August 31, 2019.
