On Thursday, March 18, two fighters ranked by TTR as being among the best currently competing in their respective weight classes were in action. TTR's #10 ranked junior bantamweight contender Israel Gonzalez appeared to have outpointed bantamweight Jose Martinez but had to settle for a draw and TTR's #7 flyweight contender Angel Acosta, staying active in a junior bantamweight eight-rounder, scored a one-sided unanimous decision over veteran journeyman Gilberto Mendoza.
