- Ahmed was a late substitute. Fundora was originally slated to fight the then WBA #6 ranked Jorge Cota (30-4, 27 KOs) in the eliminator but Cota was forced to withdraw after testing positive for COVID-19. The eliminator's promoter, Premier Boxing Champions, requested that they be able to replace Cota with then unranked former WBO World super middleweight title challenger Habib Ahmed. The WBA approved the change, removed Cota from their rankings, and inserted Ahmed at #10. As a result, Fundora was moved up from #7 to #6 and Tim Tszyu, Kerman Lejarraga, and Dylan Charrat each also moved up one spot to #7, #8, and #9 respectively.
- Fundora bombarded Ahmed with a variety of power shots, finally forcing the stoppage in round 2.
- This bout was part of the Fox Sports/Premier Boxing Champions Pay-Per-View headlined by the Errol Spence, Jr.-Danny Garcia bout.
