- The scores were 96-94 for Higa, 95-95, and 95-95.
- This was former WBC World flyweight champion Higa's second bout this year. He stopped journeyman Jason Buenaobra in the sixth round on February 13.
- Tsutsumi was also fighting for the second time in 2020. He battled to an eight-round draw with undefeated Kazuki Nakajima on January 28.
