Who Wins Canelo vs Golovkin III?

Pictured: Mairis Briedis, TTR's and the consensus #1 contender for the vacant lineal world cruiserweight title

The often postponed final of the second World Boxing Super Series cruiserweight tournament, pitting Mairis Briedis against Yuniel Dorticos, will be held in Munich, Germany on September 26 and TTR will be recognizing the winner as the new lineal world cruiserweight champion.

Again, we have not just depended on our own rankings, but have utilized consensus rankings, to determine the world's current Top 2 200-pounders. For this purpose, we used our rankings along with those of the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board (TBRB), The Ring, ESPN, and BoxRec. All five of our chosen sources agree on who the top 4 cruiserweights in the world are but disagree as to the order in which they are ranked.

So, four points were assigned to a #1 ranking down to 1 point for a #4 ranking and the final tabulations were as follow:
1. Mairis Briedis- 19 points (4 #1s- TTR, TBRB, The Ring, and BoxRec; 1 #2- ESPN)
2. Yuniel Dorticos- 14 points (1 #1- ESPN, 3 #2s- TTR, TBRB, The Ring); 1 #4- BoxRec)
3. Ilunga Makabu- 10 points (1 #2- BoxRec; 3 #3s- TTR, The Ring, ESPN; 1 #4- TBRB)
4. Krzysztof Glowacki- 7 points (2 #3s- TBRB, BoxRec; 3 #4s- TTR, The Ring, ESPN).

Hopefully, the fight will be held as scheduled, it won't end in a draw, a No Contest, or a No Decision, and we shall see the vacancy created by Oleksandr Usyk relinquishing the title to campaign as a heavyweight be filled by the "winner and new lineal cruiserweight champion of the world."
