TTR RANKED FIGHTERS IN ACTION- December 23- Murata, Mthalane, and Teraji Retain Belts

On Monday, December 23, in Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan, four fighters ranked by TTR as being among the best currently campaigning in their respective weight classes were in action. Three, Ryota Murata, Moruti Mthalane, and Kenshiro Teraji, won, retaining their organizational world titles, while one, Randy Petalcorin, suffered a defeat (courtesy of Teraji's proficient fists).

In additiion, on the same card, Roman Gonzalez ended fifteen months of inactivity by demolishing Filipino journeyman Diomel Diocos in two rounds.

WBA World Middleweight Title-
Champion Ryota Murata (TTR #6, Transnational #6, The Ring #6; 16-2, 13 KOs)

Steven Butler (WBA #8; 28-2-1, 24 KOs)
- The 2012 Olympic Gold Medalist and two-time WBA World champion battered and dropped Butler in round 5, resulting in the referree stopping the bout.

IBF World Flyweight Title-
Champion Moruti Mthalane (TTR #2, Transnational #2, The Ring #2; 39-2, 26 KOs)

Akira Yaegashi (IBF #14; 28-7, 16 KOs)
- Mthalane improved to 9-1 with 6 KOs in IBF World title bouts. He was 4-0 with 2 KOs in IBO World title contests in between his two reigns as the IBF champ.
- Yaegashi, who has held World titles at 105 (WBA), 112 (lineal, WBC, The Ring), and 108 (IBF), fell to 8-6 with 3 KOs in World title matches.

WBC World Light Flyweight Title-
Kenjiro Teraji (TTR #1, Transnational #1, The Ring #1; 17-0, 10 KOs)

Randy Petalcorin (WBC #12, TTR #14; 31-4-1, 23 KOs)
- Petalcorin was a substitute opponent. Teraji was originally scheduled to meet IBF World champion Felix Alvarado (TTR #4, Transnational #4, The Ring #4; 35-2, 30 KOs) in a title unification bout. Alvarado was forced to withdraw due to illness.
- Teraji, who floored Petalcorin four times, is now 8-0 with 5 KOs in world title bouts.
