On Saturday, December 7, thirteen boxers ranked by TTR as being among the best currently fighting in their respective weight classes were in action. Nine, Anthony Joshua, Dillian Whyte, Aleksei Egorov, Jermall Charlo, Ryosuke Iwasa, Chris Eubank, Jr., Emanuel Navarrete, Jerwin Ancajas, and McWilliams Arroyo, won; two, Andy Ruiz, Jr. and Marlon Tapales, lost (to Joshua and Iwasa respectively); and two, Kenichi Ogawa and Alexander Povetkin, were involved in split decision draws.

Both fighters were cut badly- Noynay by an accidental head butt in round 2; Ogawa by an accidental head butt in round 3. A third bad head clash sent Noynay to his knees in the fourth round and another in round 5 rendered Noynay unable to continue.
- The scores were 48-47 for Noynay, 49-46 for Ogawa, and 48-48.
