Transnational Boxing Rankings Board's Rankings As Of May 14
The Transnational Boxing Rankings Board's latest rankings- those based on fights held through May 13, 2019- were posted on the TBRB's website May 14, 2019. There were changes in the Top Tens for the junior middleweight, junior lightweight, junior featherweight, and flyweight divisions.

From the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board's website:

Latest Updates:

14 May 2019: *** Julian Williams (#7) executed a masterful strategy to defeat Jarrett Hurd, the top Jr. Middleweight in the world. The top man in the division now is Julian Williams. Hurd wants a rematch. We do too, albeit for different reasons: Right now, Williams and Hurd are the top 2 contenders in the division. If these placements remain unchanged, they fight soon, and an official winner is declared, the division will have a legitimate, historical, and singular champion of the world, the first since Floyd Mayweather retired in September 2015.

The top contender at Jr. Lightweight is Miguel Berchelt. Francisco Vargas wasn't convinced after their war two years ago; so he tried again and after six hard rounds could not continue. Vargas drops from #5 to #9. We hope to see Berchelt face #2 Gervonta Davis and soon. The official winner becomes the legitimate, historical, and singular divisional champion, the first since Manny Pacquiao abdicated in July 2008.

The second best Jr. Featherweight in the world is Emanuel Navarrete. Isaac Dogboe, ranked #5, lost to him last December but was unconvinced and reportedly ashamed of losing. So he did what fighters do, and tried again. This time, he was stopped when his father was faced with a tough decision and made the right one, he threw in the towel and saved his already battered son from serious injury. Dogboe is now ranked at #8 but has nothing to be ashamed of.

Flyweight Moruti Mthalane demonstrated excellent technique in his unanimous decision against #8-ranked Masayuki Kuroda. Mthalane moves from #3 to #2 -within striking distance of a true championship contest- while Kuroda drops to #9. At 36 years old, Mthalane is competing at a very high level in a lower-weight class where fights can get frenetic, and that makes him an anomaly. We strongly encourage his management to pursue a fight with #1-ranked Kosei Tanaka. An official winner between #1 and #2 would give the division its first legitimate, historical, and singular champion since Roman Gonzalez abdicated in October 2016. ***
