- Goddi was down twice in the second round. His corner threw in the towel before action could resume after the second knockdown. Referee Victor Loughlin then stopped the bout.

- Marsili was cut by an accidental clash of heads in the first round. In the seventh round, the cut worsened resulting in the ringside physician advising the bout be stopped.
- Marsili won by the scores of 69-64, 70-62, and 68-64.

- By stopping the former WBO World title challenger, Moloney, a former WBA Oceania super bantamweight champion, successfully WBA Oceania bantamweight title for the first time while adding the vacant Commonwealth title to his collection.
