Edison Miranda Victorious In Return
After his brutal knockout loss against newly crowned Middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik, Edison "Pantera" Miranda's (29-2, 25 KOs) return to the squared circle was a successful one. Now campaigning at 168, Pantera's Tuesday night fight at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, Hollywood, Florida against Costa Rica's Henry Porras (33-7-1, 25 KOs), ended in the 5th round.

Both fighters studied each other during the first round. Miranda was hesitant at first. During the last minute, Edison began to measure the distance with left jabs and an occasional right while Porras worked in spurts trying at times to apply pressure.

Miranda looked more comfortable in rounds two and three, sometimes attacking the body and effectively using his jab. Porras took Miranda to the ropes a few times but could not capitalize on the opportunities.

Round four began with good exchanges between the fighters. Porras continued to apply pressure while Pantera kept him at bay with crisp left jabs trying to set up the Costa Rican for a big overhand right.

Round five went as most of Miranda's fights. An powerful right hand hurt Porras and Pantera quickly followed up with a barrage of puches forcing the referee to stop the bout.

The unofficial TTR scorecards had Miranda ahead 40-36 at the time of the stoppage.
