Ex IBF champion, lefty Paul Spadafora (40-0-1) won a close 10 rounds split decision against Ireland champion Oisin Fagan (17-4-0) last friday at the Soaring Eagle Casino of Mount Plaisant in Michigan.

Paul Spadafora is still undefeated, he had a draw against montreal boxer from Romania, Leonard Dorin. The fight happened in Pittsburg, may 13th and was for the unification of the IBF and WBA title.



Paul Spadafora had problems with justice around february 2003. He was drinking heavily one night, and had an argument with his wife Nadine Russo outside a gas station and shot her in the chest. Spadafora hitted rock bottom in february 2005, he was broke, alcohol-addicted and awaiting punishment for a crime just as famous as his pro career. Once a champion, he was now at the mercy of the justice system. Spadafora had already spent 2 months locked in a second-floor cell at the Allegheny County Jail before he was sentenced to a six-month millitary-style boot camp in central Pennsylvannia for pleading guilty to aggravated assault,a reduced accusation from the initial attempted homicide.
