A look at the heavyweight scene







Valuev WBA.......Massive but limited brute. Only champ because of his obscene size.













Klitschko IBF........Another very big heavyweight. Decent ability and he looks good dishing it out. Not so hot when he opponent fires back however due to his china face and his lack of real fighting heart. His size and ability mean that its hard for opponents(especially the shit he's currently fighting)to actually be in a position to hit his china face or test his fighting guts. Nice guy, but those are the facts.
















Maskaev WBC.........An old, slow Russian. Questionable punch resistance and not much ability. Only a beltholder because he was lucky enough to fight another china bearded heavyweight who's number he has.









Briggs WBO...........A big punching weightlifter. Again looks impressive when handing it out but not so good on the recieving end and can't go more than a couple rounds without wheezing like an old man. If he can't get an opponent out of there early, then he's in trouble.









Contenders.....lol







V. Klitschko.........Back only because he can see it might just be possible for is china faced brother to stay a beltholder long enough for their dream of holding titles together to actually become a reality. A touching story? Perhaps, but also a cynical indication of just how poor this division is. Figures to be relieving the old, slow Russian of his belt in the not so distant future.









Peter...........Big punching Nigerian bull. Scared the life out of Wladdy and had him flopping around like a dying Octopus whenever he hit him.....only problem was he lacked the actual ability to hit him with any regularity. Some signs of improvement and maybe reason for optimism in his rematch win over James Toney, but bear in mind Toney is a blown up light-heavy at best and is old and fat as butter now.









Lyakchovich.........knocked out by the weightlifter in a tepid fight in which appeared to be fought in slow motion. His opponent suffered an asthma attack in the first round and the 'white wolf' still couldn't win the fight. I think thats says it all really. What next? A 50 a day heart attack patient sneaking a decision over the champ?









Brewster.........A really nice guy and a big puncher with plenty of heart. Hung around like a heavybag against Wladdy and then grew some arms and knocked Wladdy out when Klitschko grew weary of throwing punches. Beat a Polish nutcase next and people grew hopeful.....until he lost to the 'white wolf' who got put to sleep by the wheezing weightlifter.









Ruiz........He's still around!!(I know he got beat by Chagaev recently but who cares about a guy who will be challenging Valuev but who can only reach to punch his head with the use of a stepladder??) Holding, hugging, snuggling, watching Ruiz fight is like watching a love story unfold....but until he's gotten rid of properly he'll continue to hang around looking for love.









Tyson..........Oh why not??
