- The judges had Morrell ahead by the scores of 108-101, 110-99, and 110-99 going into the 12th round. International Boxing Hall Of Fame inductee Steve Farhood, scoring the bout for Showtime, had Morrell ahead, 109-100, after 11 rounds.
- The southpaw Morrell floored Yerbossynuly with a straight left in round 12. Yerbossynuly beat the referee's count but, soon after, was penalized one point for excesive holding.
- Morrell, landing two lefts followed by a terrific right hook, floored Yerbossynuly a second time bringing the fight to an end.
- After the referee stopped the bout without issuing a count, Morrell helped an obviously unsteady Yerbossynuly to his corner.
- Yerbossynuly was carried from the arena on a stretcher and taken by ambulance to Hennepin County Medical Center for evaluation. There it was discovered he had suffered a subdural hematoma and was placed in a medically induced coma.

- The judges had Morrell ahead by the scores of 108-101, 110-99, and 110-99 going into the 12th round. International Boxing Hall Of Fame inductee Steve Farhood, scoring the bout for Showtime, had Morrell ahead, 109-100, after 11 rounds.
- The southpaw Morrell floored Yerbossynuly with a straight left in round 12. Yerbossynuly beat the referee's count but, soon after, was penalized one point for excesive holding.
- Morrell, landing two lefts followed by a terrific right hook, floored Yerbossynuly a second time bringing the fight to an end.
- After the referee stopped the bout without issuing a count, Morrell helped an obviously unsteady Yerbossynuly to his corner.
- Yerbossynuly was carried from the arena on a stretcher and taken by ambulance to Hennepin County Medical Center for evaluation. There it was discovered he had suffered a subdural hematoma and was placed in a medically induced coma.

Middleweight Bout-
Brian Mendoza (21-2, 15 KOs)

Jeison Rosario (TTR #13; 23-4-1, 17 KOs)
- Mendoza dropped Rosario with a body shot in round 2 and knocked Rosario out with an uppercut to the jaw in round 5.
