This would make the Challenge Much more interesting to me....TBH the Challenge after years of taking part just kinda slogs along at this point.....

The 4 of us is enough for 3 match ups. Which would be 3 weeks. 6 for rematches... as in league play, teams play twice a season. Add someone else... this can really get interesting.
If it's an odd number, the person with the bye week could be the one to send the picks to.

Re: TTR Challenge #25- FINAL STANDINGS
I thought about that. But if we're picking from 5 to 8 fights... how much stock are we putting into getting one fight correct?
Maybe a big point disparity. Well have to fight out what's a big enough deficit to say one got KO'd?
But I do think picking a fight exactly should mean something.

Re: TTR Challenge #25- FINAL STANDINGS
Thats where I was navigating towards with the point system I suggested. It could complicate scoring but if you dont load the wagon with 10 or more fights it might not get out of hand. More wide open scoring you could limit 5 gights each week maybe.

Winning by 20 or more points is a KO?
Winning by KO would be pretty difficult on low fight weeks....
oh an im sure Gil would play.....Promote it in the General forum a Few weeks and we could get a few more....Promoting it in the General forum always grabbed a few more names when i was running it

Re: TTR Challenge #25- FINAL STANDINGS
If you change up the scoring 5 would be good IMO.
From what I could gsther as some advance through brackets others would be left out till this format plays out.
Possibly the supplemental challenge can resurface so players can make picks just to keep fresh.

Re: TTR Challenge #25- FINAL STANDINGS
There wouldn't necessarily be brackets unless we decided that a playoff should determine the champion. We aren't close to that. So right now, pretty much just trying to put together a fight card, with enough players to even want to play.
And using your scoring system. How would you have score the mock week me and Marc just did?
---
I think the more fights, the less people would be interested as some weeks, it's almost feels like a shot in the dark if you don't know who the fighters are. But we need a good amount that allows for some diversity in picks.

I'm figuring the reference to Ramirez is that you meant the 2nd fight and that you both picked it correctly for winner but got the outcome wrongstraycat wrote:From what I suggested this is what I got

what's the break down of the points again?
How you come up with the 7pts.. then the 5?... what would a correct outcome award?
There a point system?

7 winner, 5 outcome 3 for correct round, maybe 2 to closest prediction as a consolation.
For decision its trickier concerning scores.
Its on the first page.

yeah, but why is it 7 points? 5 and 3? so the total 15 points per fight? why is 15 the number?straycat wrote:7 winner, 5 outcome 3 for correct round, maybe 2 to closest prediction as a consolation.

I asked so the total of points may be what we use to determine KO possibilities.

I am attempting to implement a system where you get less weeks of multiple players obtaining the same score.

Re: TTR Challenge #25- FINAL STANDINGS
That's not what im saying, im asking what determined the amount you awarded to each category.
So then we could know how to determine KO's based off X number of points. The amount you awarded i'd say is interchangeable... as the difference will be the category.
I'm not sure about the "who got the closest" anymore as i think it's too subjective.
----
There's fights tonight? if we can get 3 of them... and at least 4 of us here... we can have another mock week...

Predicting the KO needs to be awarded.straycat wrote:I just pulled em out of thin air. Are you saying predicting the KO round would be a bonus concept.
We're trying to figure out how to award the player with a KO.
So far the only reasonable way seems to do it with point differential.
Predicting the KO should count as bonus points that helps with that, but i dont think it should be the determining factor because that would be 1 out of 5 fights correct... and the other picks still hold significance.
So if we created a particular amount of points to reward players with correct picks... We can then determine what is a significant amount of points to use in the differential to determine if one player got KO'd by the other in the head to head match up.

Re: TTR Challenge #25- FINAL STANDINGS
If there is no consequence maybe everyone would enter a round for KO picks.
Awarding a decision bonus could break down in increments of how many judges score it that way. All 3, 2 out of 3 or one judge scoring how a player predicts.
Will a decision bonus still be awarded for a split vrs predicting unanimous?

Re: TTR Challenge #25- FINAL STANDINGS
yes.. if you enter (T)KO as your result, you must select a round as well.
And as far as the cards go, that's a tricky one, but i figured, you just have to get 1 out of the 3 cards... if its a SD you must still have picked the right fighter to win first. Then you're down to picking 1 of the 2 cards correct.
----
Another question as far as awarding points.
And are all fights equal?
Is picking the winner of Thurman's tune up fight the same as picking the winner of Canelo/GGG?
Or are we keeping the Challenge way of picking... not all fights are equal.
