Re: OT: The beer thread
Best beer I've ever had is Great Lakes Brewing Co. Christmas Ale.
Re: OT: The beer thread

I love pumkin beer, I've tried over 50 and Pumking stands out...tastes just like pumkin pie. They have it in most craft beer stores and in Fl quite a few beer bars even have it on tap....shouldn't be hard to locate.
Have you tried Shipyard's Pumpkinhead Ale? That's my fav thus far.

I hate beers brewed with raisins. Taste like cough syrup.

Re: OT: The beer thread
Anybody ever tried Caguama Cerveza? Saw it at a local supermarket at about $10 for a 12pk.
Not bad for a light ale type beer. Checked it on Google and had a pretty amusing experience reading this.

Dos Equis, Tecate, or Modelo Especial for me

Trader Joe's Mission Street Anniversary Ale, $2.99 for a 22 oz bottle, great stuff. No better beer for the money, far as I know.

Had some Bellhaven Scottish Stout this weekend. It was awesome. Guinness should be pumping up the advertising because this one might give it a run for it's money.

Get the toasted. Its another favorite of mine. BTW, I saw a sixer of Blue Point Toasted Lager, but not the stout one you recommended. Trying to see if I can get a hold of it.

Have you tried Lagunitas Imperial Stout? Its brewed out of Petaluma Ca. A store in Pt Richmond has it for about $3.99 a bottle. Shits 9% wich is odd for the price.Cagiva9 wrote:Trader Joe's Mission Street Anniversary Ale, $2.99 for a 22 oz bottle, great stuff. No better beer for the money, far as I know.

Never heard of it myself, but based on very limited reviews sounds pretty run of the mill. Doesn't mean its not good though. Which one did you have?

Re: OT: The beer thread
Pumpkin beer is probably one of my least favorite styles. I tried to make one, a very early batch in my brewing life, and it turned out pretty mediocre (okay really bad). Haven't really tried too many since then. The last one I can remember trying had this jack-o-lantern on it and from what I can remember, was not terrible.regulardude wrote:Need pumpkin beer suggestions, people.
Pretty much every single one I look up seems to get mediocre reviews.
Looking at Post Road and Uinta pumpkin beers, since I've seen them around locally.
Okay after a quick google search to try and identify that beer, I found out that the majority of Pumpkin ales have a jack-o-lantern on their bottle, lol.
Do you get any of Schlafly's beer where you are? They sound like they have a decent one.

Yeah, one of the bad thing about the craft beer movement, so damn expensive. One of the reasons I started brewing my own. You need to find some beer connoisseurs around you. That's how I get to try most of the new stuff I try. Much cheaper to get a wide sample when everyone brings a bottle or two of something.regulardude wrote:Thanks, meezy. Can I just say I like "all the above"!
I love a lot of beers. Although I don't care much for Kilkenny and some of the more bitter beers made in the UK.
But I do love Guiness. I also enjoy most North American beers.
