Re: Another Music Thread
Just learned about this the other day. Kinda blew my mind
I know a lot of you guys are probably familiar with The Monkees regardless of what your personal opinion may be of them. I personally liked a few of their songs, but of course knew they were essentially just a gimmick band.
Never had any idea that Michael Nesmith went on to do stuff like this afterward

I've actually never heard any of the studio albums with Ripper, but I have '98 Live Meltdown, and I think Ripper does an excellent job on there, and the Jugulator songs that are on that album are excellent.marciano1952 wrote:Im about to speak some Taboo....But Jugulator is a top 3 Priest Album IMO
I'd like to hear Jugulator.

Re: Another Music Thread
I haven't heard the Turbo album in it's entirety either. I've heard The song "Turbo Lover" and "Locked In"...not sure if I've heard anything else off of the album.marciano1952 wrote:Iv been Listening to it the last few days in my car....1 hour RT commute everyday....I Love it....However Turbo is my Favorite, so most dont agree with me when it comes to Priest
My favorites are Sad Wings of Destiny, Hell Bent for Leather and Unleashed in the East.
Their 1st album is underrated as well.
I've really understood the praise that I see "Defenders of the Faith" receive. I see that one rated highly on Music Critic sites, but I've never cared much for it.

Re: Another Music Thread
We heard that enemies were approaching from the south
We marched to face them, I killed their scout
But we were ambushed and slaughtered in the night
We fought so bravely but none were left alive
Now I open my eyes and what do I see
A rainbow in the moonlight, pipers calling me
They say don't be afraid and asked me to follow
You've been expected, so forget your sorrow!
Their warrior's souls forever rejoice
TWILIGHT TAVERN!
With our ancestors we raise our horns
TWILIGHT TAVERN!
Their warrior's swords forever shine on
TWILIGHT TAVERN!
Welcoming our brothers at the break of dawn!
TWILIGHT TAVERN!
Life is so short (Life is so short)
Oh! son of the north (Oh son of north)
You'll find your peace
At the end of your journey
Hey! All greet us when we open the door
Familiar faces - "Brothers, it's been too long"
Beer is flowing, the smell of burning meat
In the morning battle reigns like hell's been unleashed!
As the sun sets behind the mountains peak,
The master of the house shouts: "Drink and feast!"
This feels like it is too good to be true.
The call for the final battle will be here soon
We marched to face them, I killed their scout
But we were ambushed and slaughtered in the night
We fought so bravely but none were left alive
Now I open my eyes and what do I see
A rainbow in the moonlight, pipers calling me

Re: Another Music Thread
Liberty or death, what we so proudly hail
Once you provoke her, rattling of her tail
Never begins it, never, but once engaged...
Never surrenders, showing the fangs of rage
Don't tread on me
So be it
Threaten no more
To secure peace is to prepare for war
So be it
Settle the score
Touch me again for the words that you'll hear evermore...
Don't tread on me
Love it or leave it, she with the deadly bite
Quick is the blue tongue, forked as the lightning strike
Shining with brightness, always on surveillance
The eyes, they never close, emblem of vigilance
Once you provoke her, rattling of her tail
Never begins it, never, but once engaged...
Never surrenders, showing the fangs of rage
Don't tread on me
So be it
Threaten no more

I Love the Dillards. I have a compilation of their best stuff. I think it's called "There is a Time", but it has 27 Dillards tracks on it. Good stuff.jeff_lacy_ko wrote:Saw gil post mike nesmith.... here is my favorite album which is one of the first country rock albums
