OT: Favorite Video Games of All Time

Post by LORD »

I know a lot of you fellas play or have played games. What are your top 5 Video games of all time? To put them in order would be hard so I'll just list the ones I really liked:

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for PS3

Fallout 3 / Fallout: New Vegas for PS3

Halo for XBOX

Ring King for Nintendo

Tekken for PS1

There are so many more I could name but I definitely loved all of these.
Let me know

It's a video game thread. No need to look over your shoulder.

Video games rock. I am playing a Starcraft 2 at the moment, because I'm traveling it is great, I play in starbucks all around the world when it starts raining. Also Erison, I'm with you 100%. Morrowind was exceptional, I hate what the console massive sales has done to games like that. Oblivion was very good, but it really really has been dumbed down compared to Morrowind.

I hear the BF series are supposed to be great. When I stop moving around I will buy it and get into it.

Also, SF IV in arcades in Asia is hardcore, those fuckers are in there all day. I remember pouring maybe 10$ in China(would be like 100$ in America, things are super cheap there) into a machine trying to beat this guy, and then I finally beat him, the feeling dude, it was like winning a sprint or something. Crowds of people standing around, you even get an applause.

Special Games:

Halo on Legendary (This game just feels so complete, so polished and finished, for a launch title that is spectacular)
GoldenEye
Metal Gear Solid
Streets of Rage 2
Red Alert 2
Starcraft
Starcraft 2
Skies of Arcadia
Soul Calibur
SF3: Third Strike
Pro Evoloution Soccer circa 2006/7
Championship Manager
Pokemon on GBoy

All of these have each taken at least a week of my life. I really believe that Video Games are the greatest medium of art.

Final Fantasy VII
I think we have to start wondering if Zimmerman was actually a hero, and possibly investigatig whether the rash of burglaries in the area had to do with the arrival of Trayvon. If so, I think posthumous charges of Trayvon are in order. -Rimmy

Most of the Squaresoft RPGs that came out for SNES and Playstation

and one of my personal favorites that never get mentioned in these discussions, Shadowrun for the Genesis. If you guys have spare time and run emulators for fun, download this game you won't be disappointed.

Street fighter 2 at the time was insane. Kids used to punch on over it.

I'll have nightmares about trying to beat R.C. Pro Am...

Good call on Resident Evil though (II is my game).

I know they are ancient bud but I still like Red Alert Command and Conquer and Tiberian Sun. The Medal of Honour and Call of Duty series is also pretty decent. I still own only a ps2  Red Alert grabbed me on Ps1.

Rocket, good call on Here Comes The Pain, and Also Fight Night 4 was solid too...007 on N-64, that was the best multi-player game for years and NWO vs WCW

I wish Manhunt would get a proper, this-Gen re-do. That games was awesomely brutal.

I think it was Madden '08 on PS2 that finally got it just about perfect. You could actually return kicks for TD's (if you knew how to do it, not just holding "X" the whole time, you gotta set that shit up). The running game was a straight fucking Sim. Great, great game, even with all the contact recognition and super cpu problems.

Then, the next years version they change it so you can't return kicks again. I fucking hated Madden... wait what? Madden for PS2 was like a lot like a woman.

Some great games already named. I'll name only my very favorites.

Left 4 Dead 2 (Versus)
Pokemon Blue on GB (and I never even liked pokemon...)
Mario Tennis 64 (perhaps the best 1 v 1 versus game I have ever played)
Madden on PS2 (the new madden's are garbage)
Contra
Wish a motherfucker will get crazy and stupid
i'll shoot him straight through the heart like i'm related to cupid

Thanks. I can't play the new versions of wrestling since then. Too complicated.

Awesome list for you. If the government would just pay me $20,000/yr for the rest of my life, I could sit at home and do nothing but play video games.
