The Transnational Boxing Rankings Board's latest rankings- those based on fights held through June 12, 2020- were posted on the TBRB's website June 16, 2020.

From the TBRB's website:

"16 June 2020: The Transnational Boxing Rankings have been updated for the first time since March 10, which makes the Spring of 2020 unique in boxing history. The fact that we return on Roberto Duran‘s 69th birthday is a reason to smile.

"Boxing is back, but on a limited basis. We should expect frequent weeks of “no changes,” but rest assured that our record-keepers, chairs, and the rest of the membership are monitoring developments closely. We’re all restless for live fights.

"Two of our contenders fought last week, though neither win brought about a rankings change. We have two changes anyway. First, former Light Heavyweight king Oleksandr Gvozdyk has announced his retirement. After Artur Beterbiev took his crown in October 2019, Gvodzdyk fell to the #2 ranking and remained a formidable opponent for anyone, perhaps even including Beterbiev. Gvozdyk’s decision to retire appears to be rooted in his business ventures and we wish him the very best. His retirement opens up a spot and the board votes in Maksim Vlasov. Vlasov dropped down from cruiserweight in 2019 and has gone 3-0 in this division thus far.

"Gilberto Ramirez exits his #4 ranking at Super Middleweight. This is due to inactivity that precedes the pandemic and is unrelated to it. He was turning down fights before March and will be competing as a light heavyweight anyway. The board votes in Billy Joe Saunders. Many voting members concede that Saunders is vulnerable to be overtaken by any number of fringe contenders who can chalk up one good, or even decent, win."

Re: TTR/TBRB/The Ring/WBC/WBA/IBF/WBO/IBO- latest ratings

Post by KSTAT124 »

The WBA's August 2020 ratings, based on results through August 31, 2020, were published and posted on the WBA's website August 31, 2020.

The IBF's August 2020 rankings were posted on the IBF's website on September 1, 2020.

The WBO's August 2020 rankings- through August 31, 2020- were posted on the WBO's website September 5, 2020.

These are the major changes:

WBA:

SprMW: new #1 and Interim Champion- David Morrell, Jr. (had been #3); Interim Champion had been VACANT; previous #1- Lennox Allen (now #3)

SprWW: new #1- Israil Madrimov (had been #2); previous #1- Jarrett Hurd (now #2)

WW: new #1 and Interim Champion- Jamal James (had been #5); Interim Champion had been VACANT; previous #1- Yordenis Ugas (now #2)

LW: new #1 and Interim Champion- Rolando Romero (had been #7); Interim Champion had been VACANT; previous #1- Robert Easter, Jr. (now #2)

SprFlyW: IN at #13- Leonel Barcelos (BoxRec lists Barcelos as having a 3-9 record and as having last fought in 2015. It is possible that the data BoxRec has for Barcelos is incomplete. However, BoxStat, which often shows bouts missing from BoxRec's database, also lists Barcelos with a 3-9 slate.)

IBF:

CrW: #1 now NOT RATED; previous #1- Rulan Fayfer (OUT; N/A- WBC)

LHW: OUT- #7 Joseph Smith, Jr. (N/A- WBO)

MW: OUT: #12 Jeff Horn; IN: #12 Vincent Feigenbutz (had been #13 at 168)

JrMW: new #2- Jack Culcay (had been #6); #2 had been NOT RATED; Tim Tszyu- up to #4 from #5

WW: new #2- Shawn Porter (had been #4); #2 had been NOT RATED

Note: the IBF ranks three fighters who have announced their retirements: Koki Eto (#7 at 115; announced retirement in July), Akira Yaegashi (#7 at 112; announced retirement on September 1), and Yuto Takahashi (#6 at 108; announced retirement in April).

WBO:

LHW: new #1- Joe Smith, Jr. (had been #4); previous #1- Umar Salamov (now #2)

JrMW: new #2- Tim Tszyu (had been #9); Jeff Horn- dropped from #5 to #15

WW: new #1- Shawn Porter (had been #4); previous #1- Danny Garcia (OUT: N/A- WBC, IBF)

JrWW: Viktor Postol (down from #4 to #10)

FeW: new #2- Ruben Villa (had been #3); previous #2- Jessie Magdaleno (turned down bout for vacant title; down to #3)

JrFeW: new CHAMPION- Angelo Leo (had been #2); new #9- Ricardo Espinoza Franco (had been #14 at 118)

Note: the WBO ranks Andrew Selby #8 at 118. Selby announced his retirement on June 21. Worse than that is that the WBO in their August 2020 Asia Pacific junior middleweight rankings, lists Dwight Ritchie at #15. Dwight Ritchie died on November 9, 2019 at the age of 27.

There are links to the WBA's, IBF's, and WBO's websites at:

Edit: Note: the WBA realized the absurdity of ranking Barcelos as a Top 15 super flyweight and, by September 19, changed the 13th, 14th, and 15th spots from 13- Barcelos, 14- Jade Bornea, and 15- Orlando Penalba to 13- Bornea, 14- Lucas Fernandez, and 15- Penalba. Interstingly enough, it was Fernandez (Lucas Emanuel Fernandez Leone) who stopped Barcelos in the latter's last bout in 2015.
