The Ring's ratings for the period ending June 23 were posted on their website June 24. I just finished updating our listings of their ratings a few minutes ago.

You can check them out in the BOXING ORGANIZATIONS RANKINGS section.

The Ring included changes in four divisions:

Cruiserweights- now that David Haye has officially vacated all of his cruiserweight titles, The Ring now lists their cruiserweight title as vacant as well.

Middleweights: Raul Marquez, who upset Giovanni Lorenzo last Saturday night, replaced Lorenzo at #10.

Welterweights: Andre Berto, who stopped Miguel Angel "Miki" Rodriguez last Saturday night to win the vacant WBC title, is in at #10 replacing former IBF champion Kermit Cintron

Featherweights: the following is how the division's top ten now looks:

Champion: vacant

1- Chris John (up from #2)
2- Jorge Solis (up from #3)
3- Steven Luevano (up from #4)
4- Hiroyuki Enoki (up from #5)
5- Jorge Linares (up from #6)
6- Martin Honorio (up from #7)
7- Nicky Cook (up from #8)
8- Takahiro Aoh (up from #9)
9- Orlando Salido (new)
10- Guty Espadas, Jr.

Out from ratings for period ending June 16, 2008:
#1- Robert Guerrero (relinquished IBF title to campaign at 130)

Note: The Ring continues to list Jorge Barrios as the #5 junior lightweight contender despite the fact he hasn't fought in 14 months; Eagle Den Junlaphan is still listed under the name "Eagle Kyowa" despite the fact Junlaphan no longer uses "Kyowa" privately or professionally.

The Ring's weekly ratings for the period that ended June 30 were posted on their website yesterday. Their ratings were updated on TTR today.

There were only two divisions in which changes took place:

LIGHTWEIGHTS:

Champ: Joel Casamayor

1- Nate Campbell
2- Manny Pacquiao (new; was and still is listed as World Junior Lightweight Champion)
3- Juan Daiz
4- David Diaz (down from #2)
5- Jose Armando Santa Cruz (down from #4)
6- Julio Diaz (down from #5)
7- Michael Katsidis (down from #6)
8- Amir Khan (down from #7)
9- Yuri Romanov (down from #8)
10- Zahir Raheem (down from #9)

Out from rankings for period ending June 23, 2008:
#10- Anthony Peterson

FEATHERWEIGHTS:

Champion: Vacant

1- Chris John
2- Jorge Solis
3- Steven Luevano
4- Hiroyuki Enoki
5- Jorge Linares
6- Mario Santiago (new)
7- Martin Honorio (down from #6)
8- Nicky Cook (down from #7)
9- Takahiro Aoh (down from #8)
10- Orlando Salido (down from #9)

Out from ratings for period ending June 23, 2008:
#10- Guty Espadas, Jr.

It's a little disturbing that #5 ranked junior lightweight Jorge Barrios' prolonged inactivity (he hasn't fought in over 14 months) doesn't seem to bother those at The Ring at all.

The Ring's flyweight ratings are still cluttered with fighters campaigning at other weights. Both #6 Roberto Vasquez and #8 Jose "Carita" Lopez are now fighting at 115 and #10 Hugo Cazares, although weighing 113 when he stayed active with a win over Kermin Guardia, is challenging Ivan Calderon August 30 in an attempt to win back his junior flyweight title.

The Ring also still refers to #4 strawweight Eagle Den Junlaphan as "Eagle Kyowa."

The WBC's July ratings were posted on their website on July 3 and have been updated on TTR.

Manny Pacquiao is listed as both the lightweight and super featherweight champion with the notation that he is in the process of deciding which title to voluntarily give up. That's standard procedure as champs have historically been given time to decide which title they will defend and which they will relinquish.

Some highly ranked fighters such as Rafael Marquez, Ricky Hatton, Ali Funeka, Joan Guzman, and strawweight Roman Gonzalez (among others) have been removed from the ratings and placed in the "Not Available" category because they will be challenging for other major organizations' titles or competing in other major organizations' eliminators.

With previously #1 ranked Andre Berto winning their vacant welterweight title, the WBC now ranks Luis Collazo as the #1 welterweight contender.

Joe Calzaghe, having given up the WBC super middleweight title, is now listed as the #1 contender for WBC light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson's title.

Chris Arreola has moved up to #5 in the heavyweight division, pushing David Haye to #6 and Oleg Maskaev to #7.

The Ring's weekly ratings for the period ending July 7 were posted on their website July 8.

There were changes in only 3 divisions. Hugo Garay, the newly crowned WBA champion, is in at #10 in the light heavyweight division (replacing Juergen Braehmer). New WBO champion Kendall Holt is in at #6 at 140 pushing the former WBO champion Ricardo Torres, Juan Urango, Lovemore Ndou, and Juan Lazcano down one spot each and pushing Demetrius Hopkins out of the top ten. At lightweight, Ali Funeka replaced the man he kayoed in an IBF eliminator, Zahir Raheem, at #10.

The IBF's latest monthly ratings were posted on their website yesterday. Many of the divisional top 15s are already outdated and some are, to say the least, perplexing.

A review of the changes in the IBF's rankings follows.

HEAVYWEIGHT: IN: James Toney at #10; OUT: #13- Oleg Platov

CRUISERWEIGHT: No "Ins" or "Outs"; only minor changes within the top 15

LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT: remember, these ratings were posted August 20- Chad Dawson, who vacated the WBC title on July 11, is still listed as the WBC champion; Tavoris Cloud and Julio Gonzalez went into their August 8th IBF title eliminator ranked #5 and #11 respectively- Cloud stopped Gonzalez in the 10th round- Cloud and Gonzalez are still rated #5 and #11 and the top two positions are still listed as "NOT RATED"

SUPER MIDDLEWEIGHT: IN: Andre Dirrell at #12; OUT: #15- Markus Beyer

MIDDLEWEIGHT: IN: Daniel Geale at #15; OUT: #8- Ronald "Winky" Wright (inactivity); despite losing a 10-round, split decision to Dionisio Miranda on August 1, Sebastien Demers moved up from #9 to #8- Miranda is not ranked

JUNIOR MIDDLEWEIGHT: despite his August 13th TKO-6 victory over Jose Varela, Joel Julio was dropped from #4 to #11; no "Ins" or "Outs"

WELTERWEIGHT: despite having won the vacant IBF title on August 2 with a 9-round, unanimous technical decision over Zab Judah, Joshua Clottey is still listed as the #1 contender with Judah still ranked #3; despite having lost the WBA title to Antonio Margarito on July 26, Miguel Cotto is still listed as the WBA champion; IN: Lovemore Ndou at #2 (had been #4 at 140), Jesus Soto Karass at #9, Delvin Rodriguez at #13; OUT: #10- Roberto Garcia, #13- David Estrada, #15- Ricardo Mayorga; (note: #2 was NOT RATED last month; #12 is NOT RATED this month.)

JUNIOR WELTERWEIGHT: IN: Ionut Dan Ion (Jo Jo Dan) at #14; OUT: #4- Lovemore Ndou (now #2 at 147), #13- Mike Arnaoutis; (note: the IBF erroneously lists Vivian Harris twice- at #10 and at #15)

LIGHTWEIGHT: the lightweight ratings were not posted until August 21 (on the 20th, a note reading "Rankings not available" appeared where the lightweight rankings should have been). It should be noted that in the rankings posted July 23, the #1 position was "NOT RATED". In the rankings posted August 21, Ali Funeka was finally moved up from #6 to #1. He had knocked out Zahir Raheem in an IBF eliminator on July 5. Raheem has fallen from #4 to #6. IN: Michael Katsidis at #9; OUT: it wasn't necessary for the IBF to remove anyone from the top 15 because of the previously vacant #1 position being filled.

JUNIOR LIGHTWEIGHT: No "Ins" or "Outs"; only minor changes within the #11 through #15 spots.

FEATHERWEIGHT: No "Ins" or "Outs"; only minor changes within the top 15; despite having vacated the WBC title on August 12, Jorge Linares is still listed as the WBC champion

JUNIOR FEATHERWEIGHT: IN: Jhonny Gonzalez at #6 (had been #4 at 118); OUT: #12- Luis Perez (N/A- WBA)

BANTAMWEIGHT: despite having retired in June after being stopped by Vusi Malinga in their WBC title eliminator, Veeraphol Sahaprom is ranked #7; IN: Wladimir Sidorenko at #9, Daniel Diaz at #15; OUT: #4- Jhonny Gonzalez (now #6 at 122), #15- Frederic Patrac

JUNIOR BANTAMWEIGHT: despite having knocked Dimitri Kirilov in the 5th round of their August 2nd title bout, Vic Darchinyan is still listed at #4 and Kirilov as the IBF champion; IN: Francisco Arce at #12; OUT: #11- Jose Lopez (despite remaining active by stopping Oscar Andrade on August 8)

FLYWEIGHT: IN: Pongsaklek Wonjongkam at #9; Roberto Vasquez at #10 (Vasquez is also listed as #7 at 115); OUT: #9- Manuel Vargas (now #10 at 108); note: #1 had been "NOT RATED" in the ratings posted July 23- Moruti Mthalane, who outpointed Hussein Hussein in an IBF title eliminator July 5, was finally moved up from #6 to #1- Hussein, who had been ranked #14 in the IBF rankings posted June 17, had been dropped out of the top 15 when the IBF posted their rankings on July 23; Wandee Singwangcha, despite having lost a 10-round, unanimous decision to Takahisa Masuda on August 11, is still ranked #5- Masuda isn't rated but then the IBF does not include Japanese fighters in their rankings!

JUNIOR FLYWEIGHT: IN: Manuel Vargas at #10 (had been #9 at 112), Oscar Ibarra at #11 (note: Ibarra had come down from the bantamweight division to dethrone NABF flyweight champion Adrian Hernandez (by TKO-6 on July 16); Hernandez, who was dropped from #5 to #12 in the IBF's junior flyweight rankings this month, campaigns at both 108 and 112, and still holds the WBC's International and Continental Americas light flyweight championships); OUT: #10- Juanito Rubillar (N/A- WBC), #15- Glenn Donaire

MINI FLYWEIGHT: no changes

August 22 edit: see lightweight division.

Note: it's strange that Whitfield, who has never fought as a junior flyweight, is ranked #10 at that weight. He is the current WBO NABO flyweight champion and the WBO's #1 flyweight contender. The IBF ranks Whitfield at #12 at 112 while the WBC has Whitfield on their flyweight division's "Not Available" list because of his mandatory challenger status with the WBO.

The Ring's latest weekly ratings, for the period that ended October 6, were posted on their website yesterday. I updated our listings of them this morning.

There was a change in only one of the 17 divisions: Sergio Martinez is now back in the junior middleweight top 10, re-entering at #6; the previous #6, Alex Bunema, was dropped from the top ten.
