Struck by a container ship brought the whole mile n 1/2 span crashing down.

Scary stuff... lights shut off and went for it... electrical failiure or deliberate?

seems like a freak accident....when i lived at the Coast of North Carolina for a few years i crossed a Bridges over ports similar to that nearly daily....Scary stuff to thinka bout...

Too bad there were no tuggs guiding it out. I don't know how unusual that would be. I often see the container ships escorted in and out of the LA harbor. Easy to say after the disaster, I know.

I guess that is when they tow the boat but in this case they had a captain specialized in that area

The towers on the bay bridges have protective pier caps with rubber bumpers around them, the west span of the SFOBB and the Richmond/San Rafael have both been hit in the last few years. Held up pretty good

Ryan Garcia is to have predicted this event as he tweeted that something bad was going to happen on that day in Baltimore. However, they say that tweet was deleted. So this is how it relates to boxing lol.
