- Vargas outboxed Ball during the first half of the bout but Ball rallied during the last six rounds, rocking Vargas in round 7 and flooring him in rounds 8 and 11.
- The scores were 114-112 for Vargas, 113-113, and 116-110 for Ball.
- I scored the bout for TTR's Main Page and had Ball winning, 114-112.
