Anyone else see this? It was a very good fight.
Opetai looked a star in the first 6 and was clowning Briedis with speed and movement. Broke his nose with a sweet uppercut too and looked a level above. But then Briedis hurt him in round 7 and began a comeback, hurting him a few more times and swelling his eye up. Last round Opetai's jaw was seriously damaged and he looked about a minute from being stopped, but he hung on and won a decision. Opetai's jaw was in such a state that he couldn't speak and was thus unable to give an interview.
I had it 7-5 for Opetai, giving him the entire first half as well as the 8th or 9th. Some speculation that MB has a rematch clause - with how strongly he finished I imagine he's very eager to exercise that if he has it.

opetai boxed from distance in the first half which was the right gameplan. Briedis then took control. I<d like to see a rematch on neutral ground, but it will again be in australia

Reckon he fought with a broken jaw since rd 2.
