JOYCE stopped PARKER
https://www.badlefthook.com/2022/5/24/2 ... -news-2022
We’ll have to wait a bit longer to see Joe Joyce lock horns with Joseph Parker. Frank Warren tells SecondsOut that the fight, previously planned for early summer, is now targeted for September. Joyce (13-0, 12 KO), who hasn’t seen action since July of 2021, will take a stay-busy bout in the interim.
Thankfully, the reason is far more benign than what usually causes these sorts of delays: Parker (30-2, 21 KO) trainer Andy Lee’s wife is due around July.
No word yet as to who could meet “The Juggernaut” in the interim; he was on the hook for a European title fight with Marco Huck for a few years, but the EBU eventually booted him and replaced him with Tony Yoka, a move that immediately blew up in their faces in the most delightful way. There’s obviously no shortage of middle-of-the-pack heavyweights to bludgeon, and you have to imagine it’ll be a light touch considering the layoff, injury, and proximity to a big-money clash.
We’ll let you know once we have a proper date.

The fighters he's beaten aren't even household names in their own household.

Re: Joe Joyce vs Joseph Parker delayed, now planned for September
The Parker who fought Chisora the second time around I think wins a pretty convincing UD. Fast hands, pretty good balance and movement. Everything Joyce hasn't got.
I can't imagine Joyce will have any problems at all with Trevor Bryan June 11.

Parker never beats good fighters convincingly, at least on the first try. I think it will be close either way.

Bryan is fighting Dubois on June 11.

I don’t know why I read Dubois and translated it somehow to Joyce

The link in the Wilder thread I posted mentioned that if Fury retire Deontay could face Joyce for the vacant WBC.

Re: Joyce vs Parker, Mahkmudov vs Takem Set.
and joyce vs parker, I think its a winnable one for Parker if he comes with a strong gameplan that includes lots of his straights
Re: Joyce vs Parker, Mahkmudov vs Takem Set.
Parker should win it as long as he can keep moving. If he gets tired and stationary, bad things could happen.

Yeah square footed Joyce grinds him out when he tires or simply stops controlling distance

Parker vs Joyce is a good match up. It will be a very good win for either guy. I think it's going to be an ugly fight to watch though.

Joe Joyce vs Joseph Parker sanctioned as interim WBO title fight
https://www.badlefthook.com/2022/8/31/2 ... -news-2024
A week after receiving a stateside broadcast, Joe Joyce vs Joseph Parker got some extra stakes last night when the WBO officially sanctioned it as an interim title fight, citing the ongoing negotiations for Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk and the Joes’ status as the top two heavyweight contenders.
Nothing technically changes about the fight itself, as it was already scheduled for 12, but it’s nice to see Joyce (14-0, 13 KO) finally get his long-overdue shot. He’s been in line for a crack at the title since stopping Daniel Dubois in November 2020, but the Fury vs Joshua debacle kept him in limbo until the fight collapsed and Usyk got called up to challenge “AJ.”
For Parker (30-2, 21 KO), it’ll be his first crack at a belt since losing the WBO title to Joshua in 2018. He turned down an IBF final eliminator against Filip Hrgovic earlier this year, a move that’s resulted in both a direct shot at the belt and a much more lucrative opponent. Not bad.
Whoever wins will certainly be a worthy champion, and though Fury vs Usyk will almost certainly have a rematch clause that pushes any other possible defenses into 2024, one would hope that a full title shot will come sooner rather than later.

Parker using his straight punch arsenal with footwork would make it an easy win...but he will end up in a fight on the inside.

Yep he started to grind and stalk down Parker who hangs in the ropes... Parker sometimes tries to regain respect with big shots but Joyce keeps walking him down. Parker looks fatigued and about to get TKO'd.
Excellent fight so far!
