Artur Beterbiev KO'd Marcus Browne in Montreal
https://www.badlefthook.com/2021/9/15/2 ... -news-2021
Terence Crawford vs. Shawn Porter won’t be the only Top Rank/PBC collaboration on the schedule. The WBC has announced that Friday’s purse bid between light heavyweight champ Artur Beterbiev and mandatory challenger Marcus Browne has been pushed back to September 28th by mutual request.
Dan Rafael and Julius Julianis report that the promoters were too busy trying to get Crawford-Porter over the finish line to hash this one out.
Beterbiev (16-0, 16 KO) last saw action in March, knocking out Adam Deines to shake off more than a year of rust. This was supposed to set up a clash with Joe Smith Jr. after his WBO title-winning decision over Maxim Vlasov, but the Long Island native instead signed on to face mandatory challenger Maxim Vlasov and fellow New Yorker Daniel Jacobs in succession.
Thus, Browne (24-1, 16 KO) gets the call. It’s not entirely clear why he’s the mandatory challenger; he won the “silver” title against Badou Jack in 2019, but lost it to Jean Pascal eight months later, and his only victory since came over the grievously overcooked Denis Grachev. It’s not like Mauricio Sulaiman’s ever been beholden to his own rules, though, so whatever.

The fighters he's beaten aren't even household names in their own household.

Looking forward to it. Beterbiev is must see TV!
Re: Artur Beterbiev vs Marcus Browne •Live@8pm•
Anyone else thinking that this one has the potential for an upset?
Re: Artur Beterbiev vs Marcus Browne •Live@8pm•
I really takes someone Beterbiev doesn't respect to drag him into a brawl and open some holes in his game. Not sure Browne is that guy although Browne can be hurt and once he will be Beterbiev will go all out on him... That will be the window for Browne. I think Browne can and has the tools. Ramsey (Beterbiev's trainer) is really confident... Knows Browne well and thinks there is no way Browne can win.
Pers I think Browne is made for Beterbiev to score a BIG KO

From what I read on Twitter the undercard was terrible
And btw this is 75+$ with taxes in Canada

Re: Artur Beterbiev vs Marcus Browne •Live@8pm•
I predict a victory by KO for Beterbiev but with a guy his age, each new fight could ba a fight where age starts catching up...
Re: Artur Beterbiev vs Marcus Browne •Live@8pm•
I predict a kd by short hooks in combos from the clinch and a ko with a 45!!

"Title bout on the undercard"- How the hell did the IBF ever sanction this as a title bout? Maybe it's time for the U.S. Federal government to place the IBF under monitorship again.
Friday, December 17-
Marie Eve Dicaire (18-1, 1 KO)
TKO-7 1:03
Cynthia Lozano (9-1, 7 KOs)
- This bout was fought for the vacant IBF World female junior middleweight title.
- Ms. Dicaire was fighting for the first time since March 5, 2021 when she lost the IBF title to Claressa Shields in a title unification bout.
- Ms. Lozano, who has never beaten a boxer with a winning record and was fighting in a bout scheduled for more than six rounds for the first time, last fought on May 14, 2021 when she KOed the late Jeanette Zacarias Zapata in the sixth round. Tragically, Ms. Zacarias Zapata died after her next bout, a TKO-4 loss to Marie Pier Houle.

Beterbiev is still a beast
Re: Artur Beterbiev vs Marcus Browne •Live@8pm•
Beterbiev just too hard for Browne. Browne started well, but when Beterbiev upped his output after the cut, Browne fought timid and got ground down. He needed to come out of his shell more to get AB off him.

The undercard was terrible. Local club show.
Beterbiev is the fucking beast of boxing. Huge props to Bivol if he actually fights this killer. For all the accolades Canelo deserves I can't see him fighting this man for at least 2 years. If he does, all complaints of his past are finito for me.
Started slow, but as always, and expedited by the headbutt inflicted cut and ref's warning to stop the fight, he put pedal to the metal beat upon Browne's face and torso until all the fight was simply vanquished from his soul. With Nonito and now The Beast, the punch of the month is The Liver Shot. Bloody entertainment indeed.
Re: Artur Beterbiev vs Marcus Browne •Live@8pm•
Maybe Browne just didn’t have the stamina to stay on the move but every time he stopped moving and parked against the ropes he got brutalized. Browne against the ropes was just a human heavy bag.
Re: Artur Beterbiev KO'd Marcus Browne in Montreal
That was a brutal grueling fight! Artur lost a lot of blood in there but just kept punching and kept the pressure on round after round to score the KO...
