One band that had serious longevity, early 70's, they released an album in 2019 and toured behind it.

Re: OT: R.I.P. Dusty Hill
ZZ Top's last studio album (La Futura) came out in 2012.
They have been touring constantly for many years. They do package tours co-headlining sheds in the summer with other well known bands (outdoor venues that hold 10,000+) and headlining runs in the winter at casinos and smaller arenas. This is every year, year after year.
They always seemed to be on the road.
I saw them twice. They had their own sound and a good sense of humour. They didn't take themselves too seriously.
As somebody said after he died, Dusty's bass brought a growl to the bands low end. He sang a bit too.
They do have a new album recorded and done produced by Rick Rubin which should see a release by years end. Billy said there are a couple of songs where Dusty sings some lead vocals.
I always thought "Got Me Under Pressure" was one of their better tunes.

nice, fitting post. I think i'm hitting a point in life where these things are starting to carry extra weight as they continue to stack up. I don't know what I'm trying to say.Slippery Pete II wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 4:25 pmZZ Top's last studio album (La Futura) came out in 2012.
