Peter Had a very Solid Chin before he took a few beatings and got lazy........Id not be surprised to see him stop Wilder...

I could see Peter clubbing Wilder down at some point, but I think Wilder eventually catches him with that straight right and either takes him out straight away or shakes him up bad enough that he takes him out with a following knockdown or two.

Wilder has the better technique, of the horrible technique fighters(if that makes sense), so I'd take Wilder. But that doesn't mean Peter couldn't easily take his head off...

Pre Wlad, I'd take Peter. He walked through some fire in that fight and didn't bust up or hit the canvas. Peter seemed to be able to take those straight punches right on the chin, it was the upper-cuts that seemed to hurt him.

maybe McCline was a bigger puncher than Wlad, but just lacked the technique and confidence on the big stage.ForceFed_231 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 02, 2020 11:43 amversus McCline.ForceFed_231 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 01, 2020 3:36 pm Pre Wlad, I'd take Peter. I’m pretty sure McCline was after Wlad thoughForceFed_231 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 02, 2020 11:44 ammaybe McCline was a bigger puncher than Wlad, but just lacked the technique and confidence on the big stage.ForceFed_231 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 02, 2020 11:43 amversus McCline.ForceFed_231 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 01, 2020 3:36 pm Pre Wlad, I'd take Peter. ultimately i think it comes down to does Peter Keep Wilder from Coming forward.....Wilder seems to Lack power and balance when he is forced back.....If Wilder cant force Peter back he gets knocked out....

Re: Fantasy Matchup: Deontay Wilder v Sam Peter
Peter was down against mccline 3 times but had a solid chin in geneal. But he had porous defense. Wilder hits harder than anyone peter faced.
Re: Fantasy Matchup: Deontay Wilder v Sam Peter
In just sheer power I would probably rate Peter as the hardest puncher Wilder's faced too, though Wilder should be able to land more against Peter than Peter lands against him. I imagine Wilder getting caught off balance and dropped with one of those sweeping shots, but he should be able to take over and stop Peter eventually, or win a decision similar to Stiverne I but not so one-sided. Peter had a good thudding jab when he used it and the power was all there, but just too easy to hit and too telegraphed.
Re: Fantasy Matchup: Deontay Wilder v Sam Peter
Peter has the better chin, but given the height disparity, he’s just a bit too easy to hit and he’s not gonna be able to shrug off a clean right hand from Wilder... so I got Wilder winning.
If Peter got in and landed on Wilder, he’d get him outta there quickly, but I like Wilder’s chances to land first.

Sam’s best hope would be to club Wilder to the back of the head. Come to think of it that would be Hrgovic’s best hope too.
Watching Hrgovic vs Peter would be like watching two big dogs chasing each other’s tails.

Incidentally, I just saw footage of Wilder sparring Hrgovic...I think this was about 8 years ago

Wlad fought Peter in September of 2005, Peter was undefeated going in. I think Peter fought McCline in 2006. On the undercard of Wlad vs Peter was the war betweeb Miguel Cotto vs Ricardo Torres.ObJuan13 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 02, 2020 2:17 pmI’m pretty sure McCline was after Wlad thoughForceFed_231 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 02, 2020 11:44 ammaybe McCline was a bigger puncher than Wlad, but just lacked the technique and confidence on the big stage.
