I finally get this YouTube fight.
I teach 11-16yr olds and all they could talk about yesterday was the KSI/Logan Paul weigh in. I asked them if they will pay for the PPV (boys and girls) and they all replied, definitely. Starting telling me about sideboys and not liking Logan Paul for some suicide thing, dunno lol

They had no idea who BJS or Devin Haney were, but said they would watch the undercard because 'they heard some good boxers were on it'.

I finally get it. This fight will make a fortune... many hundreds of thousands will watch BJS and Haney... Even if its not boxing fans...

Not sure if I'm 'for it' as a headline fight... But it's massive no doubt.

There are waaaaay worse boxers I have seen than those two. The both clearly came in shape and trained. Most importantly pro boxing is entertainment. That fight was more fun to watch than bj Saunders.

i dont think it was a bad thing having the sideshow main event... real boxing fans can simply shut off the card after the haney fight...maybe they get a few new eyes on the undercard from people watching sideshow main event. that being said, i thought haney looked pretty good, hes definitely a well rounded fighter who is going places. BJS looked pretty underwhelming to me but he got the job done. i dont think he put himself in the mix for the canelo fight he wants with that performance.

they definitely took it seriously. paul while losing, looked relatively polished. definitely has been trained and taken the advice. activity rate and conditioning seemed to be his issue. KSI was much more wild but he threw a lot more it seemed. sure theyre not legitimate pros, but it wasnt exactly two guys off the street either, they did put in effort to make it a fight. if theres a demand for it it makes sense for dazn. call it what you want but i bet that card did better numbers than most of their other cards, i doubt haney and BJS will complain about the added exposure of being on the undercard. i think i read that their first fight did like 800k buys... thats a solid number

This shit was a toughman fight. That's it. The knockdown sequence was beyond amateurish and illegal, holds the back of the head and cracks him with his opposite hand and then shoots a punch straight down to the back of the head while the English novice was on the floor.

And Reiss is the problem? C'mon now, fellas.

im far from a fan of them or their fight, i just dont get the outrage over it being on the card. id rather it last than in the middle. being last you can shut the card off before it starts. will they win new fans from that crowd? prob not many, but dazn needs to generate revenue to sign fighters and make the fights we want. if things liek this help subsidize that i dont see an issue.

It was what it was. 2 famous for nothing guys from different countries with a tried and true angle in a tough man fight that was sanctioned and called by a real ref. It is is prize fighting and if folks are willing to ante up and a profit is to be had so be it. At least they figure a way to pay the purses of Haney and Saunders. I have a hard time listening to surfer boy and his brother bitch about the sweet science. Fuck them.
