Loma dropped Pedraza twice & Navarrete defeated Dogboe
https://www.badlefthook.com/2018/9/18/1 ... raza-dec-8
Lightweight world champions Vasyl Lomachenko (11-1, 9 KOs) and Jose Pedraza (25-1, 12 KOs) have officially been scheduled for a title unification match on December 8th on ESPN. In the fight Lomachenko will be defending his WBA title while Pedraza will defend his WBO belt. Ring TV reports the fight will be held at New York’s Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden.
While this fight was originally expected to be held on Dec. 1, Top Rank promotions instead opted to push it back a week so they can piggyback off the Heisman Trophy presentation on ESPN, which they believe will give their show a significant ratings boost.
Lomachenko, 29, is most recently coming off a stoppage win over Jorge Linares in May, his first venture in the lightweight division. Lomachenko overcame a flash knockdown in that fight to otherwise batter Linares into submission.
Meanwhile Pedraza, 29, is coming off the biggest win of his career when he beat Ray Beltran in August to become a lightweight world champion. That win not only earned him a title belt but also propelled him into another prime time headlining event.
Lomachenko will enter this fight as the significant favorite to win this title unification, particularly seeing as many rate him as the top pound-for-pound fighter in the sport right now. He’s displayed a boxing brilliance we haven’t seen in some time and talent-wise is head-and-shoulders above Pedraza (which is not to say Pedraza is a bum or anything like that). But this is why they fight the fights. We’ll see on Dec. 8th....

The fighters he's beaten aren't even household names in their own household.

Re: Vasyl Lomachenko to unify titles with Jose Pedraza, Dec.
So what's Mikey doing? Is he gonna fight Loma or is he gonna go after Spence at 147? Loma seems the much more winnable fight for him, but kudos to him if he goes after Errol. Hell of a risk if he does that. Big risk either way obviously, but Errol is the bigger one due to the size.
Loma should be able to handle Pedraza pretty comfortably, though Pedraza looked solid in beating Beltran.

Also Gervonta's best opponent and coming off a career best win. It's not really a bad fight but anyone other than elite opponents seems disappointing for a guy like Loma.
This would at least nicely set up an undisputed clash with Garcia.
Aside from Mikey, I'm not really sure who there is for Loma at 135. He's beat Linares, is fighting Pedraza, and I can't really say guys like Campbell and Easter are very interesting beyond being taller.
130 at least has Berchelt and Davis

Would be a shame if his career took a u-turn ala Adrien BONER
I really like Gervonta's skill set. I think he can be elite. You gotta keep him busy though. He got in that street fight because he's been too inactive. Feed him taxi drivers...just keep him busy.

Would indeed be a shame, but it seems like the path he's on.5_burowz wrote:gilgamesh wrote:From the looks of him lately there ain't no leftovers when he goes out to eat5_burowz wrote:Meh...Gervonta's leftovers.

Re: Loma vs Pedraza & Beast Dogboe vs Navarrete Saturday
I feel like Gervonta Davis is definitely on the Adrien Broner path to meltdowns. Davis cant stay out of trouble outside of the ring. Davis is also poorly disciplined. Adding Davis is really short with T Rex arms. He will probably max out at 135 given the size of his frame. I would pick Loma and Machado over Davis.

Perdraza is Linares extra, extra light. At least it's for a strap and not bad considering the should surgery.
More curious to see if Dogboe can get his 4th KO of the year as he predicted. Still behind Usyk, but should be mentioned for FOTY if he pulls it off.
Lol this thread became a Tank bashing venue.

Not really, you have people saying Loma's just fighting Tank's leftovers, that they want Loma-Tank, that Tank's an elite talent but not on a good path with the outside the ring stuff. Much of it's true and really only one post seems that harsh.

Right. I suppose that's more interesting than the actual fights on the card tomorrow for some.
Looking forward to see how Toefimo looks against Menard in comparison to fellow up and coming welterweight prospect Devan Haney. This is a really nice card on Free TV

Man, Dogboe got his ass whooped those last 3 rounds. It was a bit like Margarito-Cotto I. His face is a lumpy mess.
Welcome to the party Navarrete!

116-112 Nav for me....Dog had a moment in the middle rounds where he looked to be coming on but Nav silenced that by getting back on the front foot....
