Cotto fights the winner of GGG-Canelo on 12/2/2017

Post by Based »

Per to fat dan on twitter. BTW I saw Fat Dan on ESPNs boxing page, his head is fully grey now. How fast time flies lol.

GGG vs Cotto will get some hype, but GGG kills him in under 4. No point of seeing Canelo-Cotto. Canelo won that fight easily IMO

Otto lol

yes Cotto lol

But I'm assuming if GGG wins and takes this fight, WBC will strip him because Charlo is next for a mandatory shot. If Canelo wins, he doesn't receive the WBC belt because he doesn't want it and didn't bother to pay the fee.

I've thought this might happen....still one of the biggest money fights for all concerned, and IMO not much risk for Canelo or GGG.

Obviously that is the biggest fight there to be made after this, but two and a half months is not much time if this turns out to be a gruelling fight. It's possible I guess.

Don't want to see Canelo box Cotto for 12 again and don't have anything against Miguel to want to see him bludgeoned by Triple. Zero interest this way.

Miguel "Cash Money" Cotto breaking the bank on his way out.

I don't mind it being vs GGG... pretty much will be like Cotto vs Martinez.

He said this is his last year...

He said he's retiring after 12/31/17.

But we'll see.

Kudos to Miguel Cotto for going out with a big one. Regardless of who wins it'll be a major final fight if indeed it is his last Boxing match. I don't give him much chance at victory either way, but it'll be a big fight, and big payday...he deserves the big payday, and hopefully he doesn't take TOO much punishment.

Only if GGG wins... because he'll still be the A side.

If Canelo wins, im pretty sure he'll make Cotto wait until 2018. He probably doesn't take the fight at all, as its not on the Mexican dates.

GGG has to play ball... he's on the clock.

And i think he's cashing out win or lose... because if it were just winning... he could have fought anyone... Danny Garcia just called him out... thats a fight... might actually happen too. Because if GGG wins, there's a rematch clause... so Cotto might be stuck out.

I think if Canelo loses, then the Alvarez/Cotto rematch in January/Feb is more likely. I think Cotto would delay his "firm deadline" by one month for another 10 million dollar payday.

Barrera vs Ward

and their trying to make Jake vs Ward...

He does when his guy is the B side... he's willing to take risk for gain.

I thought he was one of Haymon's guys... let me research it.

[edit]

i think you're right...

Only see him trying to get fights with Haymon fighters... no connection that he's under Haymon...

Is Mikey a Haymon fighter now?

Rumors are Ward is about to jump ship to Top Rank. I think his contract with Roc Nation is up.

He robbed the bank, and i doubt they can continue to pay him what he's been earning... and if you say he can't face Haymon fighters, then he'd have no where to do.

Jack and Stevenson are with Al... with Al and Bob working together now... seems like the way to go.
