Moreno started like i think he had to do to negate the jab... he started aggressive in round 1 looking to gain respect and land big... push Yamanaka to take risk on the inside... bu Moreno ended up on his ass... Moreno scored that 4th round KD but started to fatigue, move less and Yamanaka had all the time to try to land big 1-2s from distance... eventually dropped Moreno again and from that point he was done.

Hasegawa did well boxing from distance staying away from Ruiz pop. He was in a close fight until in round 9 Ruiz hurt him... made him dance. Ruiz went in for the kill but Hasegawa traded back... That resulted in a 20 seconds sequence of pure violence in which Hasegawa's superior hand speed and reach made the better damage... He broke Ruiz' face... his nose and cheek... Ruiz had to quit after the round ended.

Thanks Astor...Hasegawa's head movement and defense in that last exchange was impressive.

It's the best Moreno fight I've ever seen. Both guys were extremely aggressive. Damn good fight and win for Yamanaka.

Great exchange there at the end of the Ruiz/Hasegawa fight but man Ruiz blew that one. That's what happens when you put your hands at your waist and swing with wide punches. He knows better than that. I'm surprised he let go like he did.

Also, he looked like he was 30 pounds heavier than Hasegawa.

Moreno is a great but I think he has been done for a while. His drop is just harder to see because of his style of fighting.

We mostly see these type of exchanges between lower class or level brawler who arm punches for 6 rounds... But this time it was world class fighters... rarely happens... even more for an elite offensive fighter like Hasegawa who is more used to flurries... that was pure violence at the highest ring level and it right away settled things... no way Ruiz could take all that punishment... that literally wrecked his face...

Hasegawa is a HELL of a warrior... we knew it... but a little like Linares, he has exceptional offensive talent but the chin is the set back... in this case he said fuck it and traded with a puncher to get the win...

What you said is exactly why I was completely shocked. You could see the straight left that destroyed Ruiz's face. It was one of the most devastating punches I've seen and Ruiz was almost able to shake it off.

Yeha chef just that type of action at this level has to warrant a round of the year status... one fighter gets hurt and reacts under pressure to inflict a fight ending injury
