What was the biggest robbery in boxing?

Post by gino7799 »

if you can think of another write it down below. Hollyfield vs Lewis comes to mind.
On fight night Canelo weighed 177 pound and GGG weighed 168.2. But Canelo says the fight for his 160 pound belt must be at 155 pounds. She should just give her belt to GGG now and move on.

I almost picked that one. It's a toss up to me between PAC vs Bradley and that one.

The most corrupt I have seen was Oscar vs Tito

To find the worse I think we can look at the judges cards in relation with how the actual fight went, but also how that bad decision impacted the losing fighter's career

Lucas vs Beyer and O'Neil Bell vs Dale Brown are good examples... Not only the decision was bad and questionable, but it robbed the losing fighter of a lots of fights at the top... A chance both were never able to get after that

What about this look Astor. Had Castillo not been robbed and Floyd got rid of that 0 how many great great fights would Floyd have been in after he lost the 0.

Jimmy Young had way more than his share. Ali, Norton, Shavers (the rematch) were all pretty horrible I thought.

The worst that I saw personally was Paul Williams vs Erislandy Lara.

Ramirez v Sweet Pea 1 has to be in the running. I doubt he actually won a round.

Re-watched Lockridge/Gomez last week. Not sure how Wilfredo pulled that one out of the bag.

Me, David and Marciano revisited the fight and we all had Holmes winning

Two other blatant robberies, both hometown decisions, were Rafael Lopez over Juan Veloz in which the referee also seemed to be in on the "fix" and Juan Urango over Naoufel Ben Rabah.

Don't recall seeing Lopez/Veloz but I do recall that other stinker.

These two fights are not nearly as high profile as the ones on the list, but were the most horrible decisions I've ever personally seen.

Richar Abril vs Brandon Rios and Tyson Cave vs Oscar Escandon....in both cases I thought the Official winner (Rios and Escandon, respectively) lost AT LEAST 11 of the 12 rounds. I'm pretty sure I had both fights shutouts for Abril (against Rios) and Cave (against Escandon)...that's about as bad as it gets

Of the ones on the list I think the one that's worst is Pacquiao vs Bradley 1, though I must admit I've never seen Whitaker vs Chavez.

I had the De La Hoya vs Mosley rematch 115-113 for Mosley actually, so I didn't feel it was a robbery. I had the Hagler vs Leonard fight a draw at 114-114.

I had the first Castillo vs Mayweather fight, 115-111 for Castillo.

I only had Floyd winning the rematch by a very narrow margin 115-113. If you totalled up all 24 rounds I think Castillo was the better man in those 2 fights. I thought the decision was atrocious in the first fight because the scores were like 116-110 Mayweather or some such shit. Terrible
