They were a lot of Hatton fans at the fight. I pretty sure he sold the tickets to them. Probably at a profit.

My guess is that he wanted those tickets for his fans, so to guarantee he got them he bought the tickets and had them deducted from his purse. He then sold them to his fans so they could make the trip.
