Grilled Bacon Wrapped Hotdogs

Post by straycat »

Sorry Chef if you feel slighted by such a blatantly ghetto non connoisseur menu item but I had one of these at the flea market saturday. Thought I'd give it a shot. Dont come nowhere near a bacon cheese burger but is awfully good.

I love hot dogs and prefer all beef Kosher hot dogs but really all kinds are good.... Here in Arizona we have a spin on your flea market hot dog... It is what we call a "Sonoran Dog" Which is a bacon wrapped hot dog with pico de gallo (fresh salsa) and jalapenos.... Sounds kinda weird but is good too...

Chef
keeping the bacon wrap around the hotdog seams to be a 50/50 thing.

Any trick to keeping it intact?

Remember to soak the tooth picks in water for 15 min before grilling them that way they don't burn..... Another method is when you wrap the bacon around the dogs make sure to fold the ends on the bottom of a sheet pan and bake them at 350 for 22-25 minutes.... Crispy and perfect wrapped hot dogs...

Been cooking them on the grill Chef. Guess in the winter baking them will be the ticket.
