I thought I would share a more healthy sweet snack than the one I posted yesterday....
Granola Bars
3 1/2 cups oats
1 cup raisins
1 cup Cashews pieces
1/4 cup slivered almonds
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 egg, beaten
2/3 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
Making the Granola:
In a large, ungreased shallow pan, toast oats and nuts in a 350°F oven for 15-20 minutes then let cool. Toss with remaining ingredients in a large bowl, mixing well.
Press firmly into a 9x13 rimmed pan which has been generously sprayed with non-stick spray or brushed with vegetable oil.
Bake at 350°F for about 20 minutes, or until lightly browned along edges. Cool. Cut into bars.
