Stevia is probably the only sugar substitute to use since it does not raise your blood sugar. We use it to make dessert and we really that was only for Christmas. Sugar substitutes are worst than sugar.

Why use it at all? Same with salt. If you have a preexisting condition where you can't or shouldn't have sweets or salts... don't. It's quite simple.
