Whole wheat pita chips

Post by athenian »

A lot of guacamole gets consumed in my place...we started making a healthy alternative to tostitos since we eat a disguting amount of them.

- slice up whole wheat pitas into triangles
- brush with olive oil
- sprinkle with salt and pepper (I add my own home made spicy seasoning as well)
- bake for 15 minutes on 350 and you'll have delicious healthy chips..good enough to eat plain actually

Sounds pretty good. I do something similar with Organic corn tortillas :D

...probably not that similar actually, I fry mine in olive oil :| .
Still, when you look at the ingredients on a bag of Tostidos, both are big improvements.

we have tried to cut down on flour/grain consumption. We had a hard time finding something to have with gaucamole. What we came up with was plantain chips from Kiwa. They are made with palm oil though.
